Laparoscopic right hemicolectomy-Complete Mesocolic Excision
“Laparoscopic right hemicolectomy with complete mesocolic excision(CME)_D3 lymphadenectomy. Why CME?-for taking root of mesentry /para SMA nodes that sometimes is the site of recurrence for right-sided locally advanced colon cancer. Not indicated for every case. Done for hepatic flexure and transverse colon lesions because nodes will be sited a lot higher that can be addressed by standard right hemicolectomy with high ICA/ICV ligation-D2 lymphadenectomy.” – Dr. Alex Muturi (Colorectal Surgeon)
